My Month in Sustainable Fashion: February

A Little Leopard

A cold windy afternoon in London turned into a playful, coffee filled mosey in the Tate Modern. Hint: They have double swings inside and outside the building so definitely take a swing on those if you’re needing a kick of adrenaline on your lunch break! I guess you can say I have dressed appropriately, my culottes were comfortable but pretty thin for a cold day.

What I’m wearing:

Faux Vintage Leopard Print Coat: A gift from a friends mother which she kept from the 60s, I upcycled this by sending it to the dry cleaners to clear the dust and sewed some new buttons on which are gold and black and shaped like lions.

What I’m wearing:

Stripe Blouse: TK Maxx. I’ve spoken to a couple of friends about TK Maxx being sustainable and we’re not quite certain whether you could consider it to be. The items in a way are chosen as products that are not sold during there original course from its first retailer so, therefore, they’re putting the stock back into a cycle to be resold at a smaller price which could potentially decrease unnecessary waste  however technically they’re not directly chosen based on whether they’re an ethical company which is a shame. Feel free to discuss below.
